At DfC we were never short of ideas to make our deliverables more relevant and effective. This extends to our fiction too. In our zeal to promote fiction and a reading culture in India, we have also provided content in a unique and non-traditional way. This is evident in our humor section, where the joke book Crazy for Gold presents a collection of jokes exclusively on the yellow metal. Our ‘cartoon articles’ is a mix of writing and cartooning, where each article showcases a set of cartoons reflecting the article theme. Muhurtham is a Four Act Play embedding a strong social message with a humorous thread throughout.
Sticking to the need of diverse renderings, the novelette David Leaves School published in 1994 in the eveninger News Today is a narrative rendering of an orphan boy that is set in the west. The novel Imayam penned by AK is a romantic saga set on the shorelines of a south Indian hamlet, portraying some of the strongest characters ever portrayed in original Indian English fiction. Imayam remains an untranslated Indian English novel.
We are sure you will find something very interesting and inspiring to hang on, in this section. As DfC silently stakes claim as the flag bearers of contemporary Indian original English fiction, we dedicate our entire fiction portfolio to the memory of R.K.Narayanan. It was R.K.Narayanan’s work that taught AK what short story writing is about.
